2008 - 2009 Manchester United home, away and third shirts

United retained the Premier League title, finishing four points ahead of Liverpool to become champions of England for the third consecutive season. Cristiano Ronaldo, Wayne Rooney, Ryan Giggs and Dimitar Berbatov all contributed as Ferguson’s side continued to compete across multiple competitions. United won the League Cup after a goalless final against Tottenham Hotspur, triumphing 4–1 on penalties, with Ben Foster’s saves helping secure the trophy. They also won the FIFA Club World Cup in December 2008, beating Ecuadorian side LDU Quito 1–0 in the final through a Wayne Rooney goal. United reached a second consecutive Champions League final but lost 2–0 to Barcelona in Rome.
